Andheri East Bypoll Live Updates, November 03, 2022: Polling percentage at the Andheri East Assembly bypoll stood at 31.74 percent, said officials Thursday. Voting began at 7 am in Mumbai with seven candidates, including the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction’s Rutuja Latke, in the fray. The bypoll was necessitated after the sudden demise of Shiv Sena MLA Ramesh Latke in May this year.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Airport Customs Thursday seized foreign currency worth $4,97,000, equivalent to approximately Rs. 4.1 crore. In a targeted operation carried out by Mumbai Air Investigation Unit, a family of three Indian passengers departing to Dubai via Fly Dubai flight FZ 446 was intercepted. The family had two elderly passengers and one other male passenger. The baggage examination of all the three passengers has led to a recovery of $4,97,000 USD. The three apprehended passengers have been arrested and have been sent for Judicial Custody.

In other news, a day after BMC scrapped a tender worth Rs 5,800 crore floated to concretise 400 km of Mumbai roads to make the city free of potholes, a letter has come to light in which engineers from the civic body’s roads department have claimed that the tender was drafted in a haphazard and unplanned manner.
