MUMBAI: Although the news that an e-pass will not be required for inter-district travel was welcomed by private tourist bus operators, they still plan to protest on September 2.
Their demands including insurance be extended for six months and moratorium on loan EMI payments be extended till December 31, remain unresolved.
“We only have one day to pay the premium before starting the journeys on September 2. Most operators exhausted reserves during lockdown. If we get an extension, we can earn profit and pay our insurance and loans off,” said Malik Patel of the Mumbai Bus Malak Sanghatana.
The Sanghatana is planning a protest with operators from Pune on September 2.
