Amid lockdown in the city to stop the spread of Covid-19, Big Bazar, the retail chain of hypermarkets and grocery stores has initiated a doorstep delivery of various products in the city.
Soon after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nation-wide lockdown on Tuesday night, it led to a panic-buying situation with several people rushing to the shops in their area to buy essential items.
Taking to their Twitter handle, Big Bazar said that they have initiated Doorstep Delivery services in Mumbai.
“Get your daily needs delivered at your doorstep. Call the nearest store and place your order.Delivery at your doorstep. Pay at home. Pass this information to your friends & relatives in Mumbai,” it said in a tweet.
These are the areas where Big Bazaar will provide doorstep deliveries – Vile Parle, Virar, Kandivli, Bhayander-Dahisar, Vasi, Goregaon, Thane, Kalyan, Vashi, Panvel, Matunga, Worli, Ghatkopar, Mulund and Malad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete nationwide lockdown for 21 days, asserting that unless India’s 130 crore people practice social distancing, the country will lose the war against coronavirus outbreak and slide back 21 years.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported five new coronavirus cases since Tuesday night, taking the number of cases in the state to 112.
