MUMBAI: Two Mumbaikars who travelled to Tokyo last month and developed fever and cough on returning were among three patients placed in Kasturba Hospital’s isolation ward on Sunday. The third, a Thane resident, had returned from Milan, Italy. “The first two have been cleared of Covid-19.
The third’s report is awaited,” said additional municipal commissioner S Kakani. A Mira Road resident who returned from South Korea and was quarantined on Sunday morning, too, has tested negative. Officials said 64,098 travellers arriving in Mumbai on 535 flights have been screened for Covid-19 at the international airport between January 18 and March 1. “Field surveillance is on across the state in search of people coming from affected areas,” said disease surveillance officer Dr Pradeep Awate.
